Associated Magazines secures 120% subscription growth

Over the last year, Associated Magazines has increased the combined subscription databases of its six titles by 120%. In addition, four titles, including House and Leisure (the big circulation winner), FEMINA, Cosmopolitan and O, the Oprah Magazine, increased their circulation over the last six months, with only Marie Claire showing a decline (1%).

"Our magazines are performing well in a very tough market," says Jane Raphaely, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Associated Magazines, publishers of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, House and Leisure, FEMINA, O, The Oprah Magazine and Baby & Me. "The best news, though, is the increase in our subscriptions across all titles. We invested in a marketing campaign to reach a very specific market and the results are showing as more women are committing to reading our titles regularly."

The latest audited ABC circulation figures (January to June 2004), confirmed that House and Leisure outperformed all the other magazines in the Associated Group in terms of circulation growth, increasing its circulation to 44 299. This circulation figure is up four 4% compared to the same period in 2003, and is at its best level since 1999. Over the last year, House and Leisure's subscription base has also increased by 80%.
