    Incredible Connection launches magazine

Incredible Connection, together with publishing house Hypertext Media, has launched a monthly magazine titled, Connect. The announcement was made yesterday, 6 May, 2009. Connect aims to speak the language of the average computer and technology user.

Dave Miller, Incredible Connection CEO says the publication is part of the retailer's drive to address the challenges that many of its customers face on a daily basis.

"With technology changing at a blistering pace and the myriad [of] products available today, it's becoming increasingly difficult for the average person to select a solution that perfectly meets their needs.

“Furthermore, the average computer user doesn't have sufficient skill to use technology to the fullest of its abilities.

"Connect solves both of these issues by offering its readers a comprehensive collection of non-technical reviews of the latest products available in Incredible Connection stores, and workshop-style features that tackle some of the most common tasks and challenges readers face on a daily basis," says Miller.

"So, for example," adds Brett Haggard, publisher at Hypertext Media, "the features in our launch issue cover topics like sending better email, mastering a Google search, copying photos from a digital camera to a PC and, for the gamers among us, how to connect an Xbox 360 to the Internet.

"We aim to take a good hard look each month at the most pressing challenges in the market and address them in a non-technical, step-by-step manner. We think this is a relatively unique approach," adds Haggard.

He says another of Connect's big differentiators is that the editorial is open, honest and non-biased.

"So, if we think a product or technology is flawed we will be honest about it. And the same holds true of our feature articles. We believe that informed readers are happy readers.

"In bringing sound buying and usage advice to our readers, we believe we'll be perceived as a trusted advisor - something that, in turn, will create a great deal of loyalty and brand affinity for Incredible Connection," he says.

Miller says Incredible and Hypertext are bullish about the magazine's prospects since it is very competitively priced at R14.95 an issue and will reach an extremely broad audience as the retailer has approximately 500,000 feet through stores across its 54 stores.
