“There is a natural synergy between these titles, and combining them in one business unit will allow us to fully exploit their potential,” says John Relihan, CEO of Media24 Magazines.

Egbert, assistant publisher of the Media24 travel and motoring magazines since February 2007, is a former journalist who worked at Die Burger and Huisgenoot. As an industrial editor, he held positions at the former Stellenbosch Farmers' Winery (now Distell) and Santam.
After almost eight years as corporate communication manager at Santam, he worked as an independent marketing and brand management consultant before his appointment to Media24. His client base of several magazines included Weg! and he was closely involved in the initial conceptualisation of this magazine.
“It's a great honour to be entrusted with this business unit and to be afforded the opportunity of working with such highly regarded editorial teams,” Egbert says. “I look forward to building on our past successes, growing our brand equity and exploring new growth opportunities in this niche market.”
The appointment is effective 1 March.
