Turkish Airlines rolls out braille boarding passes for visually impaired passengers
The global carrier launched this new service from a special check-in desk located at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport International Departures Terminal.
Visually impaired staff at Turkish Airlines were involved in the research and development of the new passes. The airline says Istanbul Ataturk is the pilot project with plans to offer the service at other airports in the near future.
Turkish Airlines' has already included audio-described movie options and barrier-free safety information on in-flight entertainment systems for visually impaired passengers, and more than 100 flight attendants and ground staff have been trained in sign language to make the travel experience easier for hearing-impaired passengers.
