Medshield launches new-look interactive website

With the NHI well on its way to becoming a reality for South Africans, the significance of member-scheme communication has become increasingly important. Accessibility and two-way communication are crucial for new and existing members, especially when exciting industry changes are on the horizon.

Offering members that needed platform for dialogue, Medshield, one of South Africa's largest medical schemes has launched its new-look, interactive website - www.medshield.co.za. The site is designed to emphasise the scheme's innovation and boasts a contemporary, new design, streamlined functionality and multiple communication channels for members.

Providing an informative, user-friendly online portal, the new website is designed to enable easy access and navigation to key member-related and industry information. Featuring scheme and broker news, regular member updates and the functionality to engage directly with the scheme, the new site is designed to keep users up-to-date with the latest news and information from Medshield as well as the healthcare industry.

General health-care information on hand

In addition, aggregated, web original content will be published in a comprehensive wellness section. Expert advice on topics such as 'staying fit when it's cold', 'getting more fibre' or 'skipping your way to a healthier you', provide a useful healthcare resource to users. A customised quiz assisting new members with finding the ideal healthcare package, will also be a central feature.

"Our members are without a doubt our most important asset. Effective and regular communication with them is key to the success of our scheme," says executive principal officer, Duduza Khosana. "The redesign of our website aligns with our strategy to encourage dialogue with both new and existing members and emphasises our fresh approach to healthcare."

A mobile version of the website, mobi.medshield.co.za was also launched in November. In addition to the new interactive website, Medshield members can now access the company's product portfolio, as well as a directory of essential scheme numbers, such as hospital authorisations, claim queries and emergency services on their mobile phones.
