Moneyweb launches lifestyle section

Online business news source Moneyweb has launched a lifestyle section on its flagship website. MONEYWEBlife, which went live on Friday, 18 July 2008, is led by former broadcast journalist and award-winning brand marketer Mandy de Waal.

“Given the respect we enjoy in the market place for our unashamed approach to undictated news, it makes good sense to extend our brand and give our readers high level editorial that speaks to leisure, lifestyle and everything beyond the world of business,” said Moneyweb CEO Alec Hogg.

Commented De Waal, “Moneyweb readers represent the cream of South Africa's online audience and we'll be offering them the best in fiction, luxury brands, satire, personality profiles, social commentary, humor and the kind of leisure read the people will talk about”

“MONEYWEBlife will feature people you want to know about, and people you should know about. What's hot. What's cool. What's up. We'll speak to sophisticated consumers about everything that's not work.”

MONEYWEBlife will be regularly updated with opinion, reviews and interviews that appeal to the well read and well at heel. Marcus Brewster of Marcus Brewster Publicity is one of the first columnists to be contributing a regular section: in Brewster's Best, he proffers his top picks of various categories.

Comments Brewster, “As a collector of superlatives - both experiential and object - I look forward to sharing my discoveries with the savvy, articulate and well-connected elite readership of MoneyWeb. Marcus Brewster Publicity is founded on three principles of excellence - Best Staff, Best Clients, Best Brands. There was thus a natural fit for me to write about best-of-breed”.

Listed on the AltX, Moneyweb produces independent, high quality investment information and prides itself on breaking financial news and strong investigative journalism. For more information, go to www.moneyweb.co.za.
