Awards for the most awards

The Cannes International Advertising Festival has introduced two new awards this year: Direct Agency of the Year and Interactive Agency of the Year, based on the number of prizes gained during the festival and awarded to the agency that obtains the highest score.

CineMARK, the official South African representative of the Cannes International Advertising Festival says the calculation for Direct Agency of the Year will be based on the awards won by an agency in the Lions Direct competition - a maximum of 10 points is required to be shortlisted.

The Interactive Agency of the Year award will be based on all of the awards won solely in the Cyber Lions competition, also including a maximum of 10 points for shortlisted entries.

In the event of a tie, the ranking will take into account the importance of prizes awarded, i.e. Grand Prix, then Gold, Silver and Bronze Lions, and if necessary, the full shortlist points.

The Direct Agency of the Year trophy will be awarded in Cannes, France, on Tuesday night, 21 June. The Interactive Agency of the Year award will be presented to the winner on Wednesday 22 June 2005.
