International business lessons with local impact

We start with international coverage by Daniel Munslow on the recent 2016 World PR Forum Summit. He shares a lesson in cross-cultural communication, one of the most talked about subjects for global communication professionals as they continue to face the challenges associated with communicating with large, geographically spread audiences. I also go Behind the Loeries with Virginia Hollis. She's MD at strategic communications company Magnetic Connection, as well as chairman of SAARF and a board member of both the Loeries and AMASA! With our focus on #YouthMonth, this week's newsmaker is Chanelle Carawan, operations director at Student Brands South Africa. She chats to Beverley Klein about the importance of being able to speak the language of the youth and bring brands closer to the next generation. Rounding out the global focus, Cèsar Vacchiano shares an important business lesson for all from China: More integration and enhanced digital presence. That's the key to future success, especially as Chinese companies are already very active on the continent and it's only a matter of time before Chinese independent agencies start looking into the South African market to collaborate or acquire agencies to provide better services to their clients. All essential business reading to get your week off to a successful start!
