Press Council public hearings - where the public has been invited to discuss the review of its press code, complaints procedure, constitutions and the role of the press ombudsman in South Africa's print media - kicked off in Johannesburg last week and have moved to Port Elizabeth today. The Digital Media & Marketing Association has announced that, as of 1 April 2011, Effective Measure will replace Nielsen as its measurement vendor. This looks to be quite an exciting move, as one of the key results will be that the DMMA will now be able to provide data to Telmar, ensuring that the digital audience is presented to media planners at the earliest stages of the planning process.
