I hold a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Business Management from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management and Accounting from the same institution.
I am passionate about building lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with people. This saw me studying a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing with majors in Business Management and Accounting. I believe Marketing offers me a unique opportunity to build and maintain lasting and profitable relationships with customers while at the same time meeting their needs. My passion for people also saw me volunteering while doing my studies with a non-profit organisation aimed at instilling strong educational values in underprivileged communities in Port Elizabeth. I have also volunteered at Ironman South Africa and the PwC Great Zuurberg Trek. I believe this is a valuable trait that will assist me in executing strategies and relationship building goals set by the organisation to ensure long lasting, valuable customer relationships.
I am also a great team player and have worked and successfully completed numerous group projects both in my academics and my co-curricular activities. I worked with a team of other senior students as an orientation leader in 2013, and in 2014 was chosen as a trainer for other orientation leaders (based on my previous years' performance). In 2013 I was also part of Beyond the Classroom, a voluntary leadership programme offered by the Nelson Mandela University Student Governance department. As part of the year long programme I had to lead a five member team in compiling a 15minute presentation to show our growth and learning during the programme. The team and I managed to put together a presentation that ended up being presented at the annual certification breakfast for the programme. I believe my strong leadership and ability to work in teams will ensure I fit in and successfully undertake and complete tasks required of me.
I am a quick learner and go getter. Upon graduation, I had to return home to Zimbabwe while I awaited confirmation of funding to pursue my masters studies. This was a difficult time emotionally as I did not know what the future held. Unfortunately the university funding fell through and I was motivated to return to South Africa and work towards raising funds to study. I looked for a job as a waiter and also as an office intern at an Industrial Psychologists practice in Port Elizabeth. I did not let my “unemployment” status derail me from continually trying to better myself and making myself a wholistic individual. This passion for excellence I trust will make me an asset and motivate me to complete all tasks given to me to the best of my ability.
