The future of work & digital design - 29 Feb 2016

By Leigh Andrews

The future of work & digital design - Mon, 29 Feb 2016It's been a business-busy February here at Bizcommunity. Today, we round out our #DesignMonth theme with an overview of the CCDI's design-thinking movement, which is fast spreading across the country.

Fittingly, Danette Breitenbach talks to the 'king of innovation' Ken Varejes, about how design technology has realigned Out of Home (OOH) as we know it. He shares that it's now focused on the digital media space, with a heavy focus on gamification and social media interaction.

Further proving that the digital future is now, the IAB Digital Summit & Bookmark Awards 2016 take place later this week. As part of our in-depth pre-event coverage, I spoke to this year's jury president and jury chairs to find out what goes into judging the best local digital work.

If that's not enough, prepare for all things 'brand manager' related on Bizcommunity this March, and as an extra treat, today sees the launch of our 'Future of Work' special focus - there'll be lots of business inspiration as we move towards the end of the first quarter of 2016...

Andrews was on the inaugural Marketer of the Year (MOTY) jury for the 2019 Marketing Achievement Awards (MAA) as well as an #Inspiring50 2018 nominee herself, and judged over 500 entries for the most recent Epica Awards - the only creative prize awarded by journalists working for marketing and communications magazines around the world. She's also serving on the IAB (SA)'s #Bookmarks2020 Publisher panel.

Responsible for keeping a finger on the pulse of the latest happenings in the marketing and media industry, this is an almost 24/7 role that involves keeping one eye on your inbox with the other on your social media feed, to write breaking news stories and interviewing key people in the B2B space.

All made easier by 15 years of working for companies such as Microsoft, Kagiso Media, Fleet Street Publications, the Mail & Guardian Online, Caxton Community Newspapers and Newsclip's media, marketing and PR publications.
