Hilton Sandton has announced the appointment of its new executive chef, Shaiful Kassim along with the launch of its Terrace at Tradewinds restaurant. Chef Shaiful brings to the team his exceptional talent and unique ideas to enhance guests' dining experience by providing superior quality meals and service.
Offering a range of seasonal products and specialties, The Terrace at Tradewinds will feature an outdoor, open kitchen where meals will be prepared in front guests, by expert chefs including Malaysian born Kassim who has worked alongside 2 Michelin-starred chef Jerry Bastian and 3 Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay.
Kassim worked at 5 star and 7 star restaurants in Malaysia, Qatar, UAE, London and France before joining the Hilton Sandton. He is a firm believer in using fresh, local ingredients sourced responsibly from environmentally conscious suppliers and has designed the new restaurant concept around this belief.
Along with some South African favourites like lamb curry, The Terrace at Tradewinds guests will be able to enjoy fresh soups, salads, the hotel's signature focaccia sandwich and its special thin crust pizza. For the sweet-toothed, a range of low calorie casual desserts are guaranteed to tempt the taste buds.
