The Society for Broadband Professionals (SCTE) has launched a new online training assessment centre via its website. According to an SCTE statement, the site now offers fully internet-based training assessments for broadband installation technicians, enabling its global membership of engineers to complete their training more rapidly and to further their careers with fully accredited SCTE qualifications.
The SCTE is one of the world's oldest established telecommunications engineers' organisations. It aims to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. SCTE members can be found in 42 countries worldwide with a concentration in Europe, Hong Kong, Australia and South Africa. "The ongoing evolution-and-development of our training courses is core to the principles of the Society," said Mike Thornton, Chairman of the SCTE Training Committee, adding that the Society believes that the new online assessment tools will enhance and reinforce the validity of the courses offered.

The SCTE training courses are seen as the standard for those who wish to enter the field of cable telecommunications or to advance their knowledge and career prospects, and SCTE engineers are working in a variety of international organisations. The SCTE provides training and certification to engineers in many different countries, sometimes with local training providers. Its most recent training initiative was launched in India last year, the SCTE statement says.
