The LikeBike inspired many to get involved in its cause last year through the Pick n Pay Facebook page. This year fans can get involved again by doing the 1 Minute Dash on Facebook or the Pick n Pay website, with all donations going towards the Velokhaya Life Cycling Academy in Khayelitsha.

Supporters can race online with the 1 Minute Dash on the bike at the group's website. For every "Velo" earned its donation to Velokhaya increases. Or visit the LikeBike+ stand at the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour Expo where one can take on the challenge of riding the special LikeBike+ spin bikes. Smart shopper has proved a popular way for our customers to donate points to nominated charities and users can donate their points to this great initiative when they visit the smart shopper kiosk in store and swipe their card. Lastly, supporters can pin the cause to their hearts by signing up to become a Velo Rider at the Expo; Pick n Pay will donate money to the cause for every person who rides and completed the full 109 kms on race day

The LikeBike that will take to the roads for the gruelling tour is a custom-built bike.

Bronwen Rohland, director of Marketing at Pick n Pay said, "The development and planning of this project is a great credit to the group's digital online team, who came up with the concept. The group is committed to using technology for its customer's benefit by making online shopping available to them, and as a means of communication with them through social media platforms."
