Bernie Ball of Bidvest Steiner with the PMR Diamond Arrow award presented to South Africa's leading hygiene and related services firm by PMR.africa. Bidvest Steiner was rated as "outstanding" according to a comprehensive survey by PMR.africa.

"This award confirms our status as the preferred hygiene solutions provider to the Durban business community," said Bernie Ball of Bidvest Steiner who was presented with the award by PMR.africa at a function in the city.

He added, "We appreciate the vote of confidence in our service offering and will continue to respond effectively to the hygiene needs of our valued clients." The survey determined that Bidvest Steiner is top of the regional league and was rated as "outstanding", according to PMR.africa.

The award was presented to Mr Ball by Johan Hattingh, CEO of PMR.africa. The latter is a provider of consulting, research and risk management services probably best known as the publisher of the Professional Management Review title.

Bidvest Steiner appreciates the fact that the PMR awards are specifically focused on three outcomes: enhancing excellence in an industry, setting bench marks, and acknowledging deserving personnel and staff for their commitment to the awarded organisations.

According to PMR.africa, the awards are always the end result of a research process whereby companies, departments, institutions and individuals are nominated and rated by respondents against specific attributes or criteria. In particular, the PMR.africa annual survey asks respondents to rate companies according to the following eleven attributes:

    Ability to meet orders
    Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)
    Competitive pricing
    Do deliveries meet promises?
    Environmentally friendly solutions
    Flexibility
    Quality of products
    Range of products on offer
    Response to queries
    Social responsibility initiatives
    Sustainable development practices.
