New headphones for athletes

New headphones for athletes, Powerbeats by Dr. Dre, have been released in South Africa. Created in collaboration with LeBron James, professional basketball player and eight-time NBA All-Star champion, the headphones are designed to deliver premium sound on the court, in the gym, or on the streets.

LeBron became a fan of the headphones after receiving a pair from the rapper himself prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. On his return to the US, he decided to perfect the ultimate workout earphones with the brand, resulting in Powerbeats.

Specially designed with advanced passive sound isolation the headphones pump clear bass at any volume, whilst allowing all ambient sounds in making it safe for those who take to the streets for their fitness. The headphones have two speakers inside each bud and a Controltalk cable giving on-cable playback control of all tunes including pause, next track and volume.

Available in three colours: red, white and black, the headphones also come with two additional silicone tips. Packaged in the signature packaging, the headphones have a hard-sided carrying case, a shirt clip to assist with the hands-free function, a manual and an extension cable for the headphones.

They are available at all major retail outlets at the retail price of R1799.95.
