To this end, while our message boards (comments under articles) and forum (debate) section allow anyone to post any comment under an article uncensored and in real time and invite response - similar to a blog - we do monitor all comments posted for defamation and just plain unnecessary rudeness designed to inflict harm on individuals or companies, or settle old scores. We've had to take action in the past to protect the integrity of our brand and again this past week. We will absolutely not allow the misuse of Bizcommunity.com's message boards for extremists to further their own political agendas and, even worse, issue death threats. As The Weekender, Business Day's fledgling weekend paper reported yesterday, globally acclaimed photographer Joao Silva has received death threats from American extremists upset over photographs he took of Shi'ite Muslims fighting US troops in Iraq. The photographs feature in a book called 'In the Company of God'. Some of these extreme views have been posted on Bizcommunity.com's website under a press release on the book. This is hate speech and we view it in a very serious light. We deleted the comments as soon as we became aware of them and no further blogging will be allowed on this debate.
