[Issued by IMPERIAL Logistics] Imperial Holdings Limited has acquired 49% of MDS, a leading logistics provider in Nigeria, for a cash consideration of US$26 million. All conditions precedent have been fulfilled and the transaction is therefore unconditional. The transaction gives the Imperial group entry into the logistics sector of the fast growing Nigerian FMCG, telecommunications and pharmaceutical industries.

Figures released by Transnet on Tuesday 26 October 2010 for the six months to 30 September 2010, show a 7.6% growth in revenue to R18.7 billion. Profit for the period is up 35% to R1.7 billion, reflecting the ongoing productivity improvements throughout the business, which had a positive impact on the return on assets. Cash generated from operations increased by 13.5% to R8.7 billion, demonstrating the company's ability to generate strong and sustainable cash flows.

Cape Town based Stor-Age, reportedly the largest self-storage company in South Africa, has acquired The Storage People (TSP) in Midrand, Johannesburg through financing from Nedbank Corporate Property Finance. The deal is expected to be finalised during November 2010.
