Customer-centricity at retail’s core - 2 May 2017

By Lauren Hartzenberg, Retail Editor (@Biz_Retail)

The retail industry is abuzz with customer centricity and experience in the spotlight this week.

In her latest #Newsmaker segment, Jessica Tennant pinned down Nicole Reitz-Chidrawi and Samantha Ferguson of boutique events company Flint & Tinder Events. She finds out about their portfolio that extends to some of the country's largest blue-chip accounts and more. Find out why they say they're well on the way to becoming the ‘biggest smallest' events company in the country.

We also have insights into Dunnhumby's Customer-Centricity Index or CCI, which reveals that the likes of Fabiani, Woolworths, H&M, Miladys, Markham, Cotton On and Mr Price all score well on customer centricity. The report scores retailers on seven ‘pillars' ,and finds that there are strong financial rewards to be enjoyed by the most customer-centric retailers. Despite the changing, omnichannel retail landscapes, the successful featured retailers demonstrate that the fundamentals of getting the customer journey in-store right are still paramount.

In other news, Australia's Skyfii has signed a master services agreement and rolled out its Software as a Service or SaaS platform to 500 Woolworths' stores. This means the retailer will be at the forefront of delivering a more personalised shopper experience.

Seems it really is all about putting your customers' needs first.
