Creating the sale - 19 May 2014
By Shan Radcliffe, Group Head - Retail (@Biz_Retail)All right, so you've set up the "Sale" and other digital signage, the cardboard product cut-outs and the POP displays; now all there is to do is sit back and wait for consumers to buy the goods on promotion. But they're not. Why is that? Jason Frichol tells us that around 80% of in-store communication doesn't work, and gives us some insight on how to make this medium more effective.
In other news, the string of disappointing economic data continues with March's retail trade sales figures only rising 1% year-on-year.
So how do we survive when the future of retail looks this bleak? By capturing consumers's attention by adopting an interactive shopping journey; by improving the online retail experience with management systems; and through innovation, collaboration and integration.
Have a creative week!
