Following on the trend of big industry moves, Edcon announced, last week, it has appointed a new CFO - Toon Clerckx. Meanwhile, Garth Napier will be stepping into Christo Claassen's shoes as CE of Edcon's discount division.
Retail trade sales for December came in above economists' average expectation at 3.5% year-on-year, with wholesale trade sales hitting a 6.6% rise y/y.
