Personal branding in the digital economy - 4 Apr 2016

By Leigh Andrews

Personal branding in the digital economy - Mon, 04 Apr 2016Louise Marsland kicks things off by chatting to this week's NewsMaker, Koo Govender. She's the new CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Network in South Africa, tasked with building the network's position in the South African market. Govender lists the digital economy as the biggest trend to note in the industry, with consumers more connected, through a range of devices, than ever before.

That's fitting as we've just kicked off our digital-focused commerce month coverage. I interviewed Wendy van Schalkwyk, CEO of MI-Ashanti International, about the need for CEOs and the rest of the C-suite to play digital catch-up in order to keep their businesses on trend.

Farren Roper adds that now's the time for marketers to establish their professional brand. He says: "It seems almost ironic that people who are so adept with the nuts and bolts of brand building would take so little time to apply the same principles to their own professional career development." It's about more than just working on your online profile...

That's all the business inspiration you need to get the second quarter of 2016 off to a successful start.
