Acquisitions unfold and advertising’s core unravelled… - 8 Jun 2015

The board of Tiso Blackstar Group SE has announced the completed acquisition of Times Media Group Limited, leaving it with 100% ordinary share capital of the largest and most dynamic media company in sub-Saharan Africa. It also has a 22.9% equity interest in Kagiso Tiso Holdings, one of South Africa's largest black-controlled investment companies.

Moving on to the realm of advertising, Chris Brewer says it's important to understand the psychology of advertising, as today's professional advertising person will apply sound instinct to whatever material is produced - this skill is based on knowing your customer and getting them to buy your product.

This ties in with the importance of mining an insight, which Catherine Makhetha calls the "thread that truly ties an agency together".
