International retailer expand South African range
The Aldo Group, a private Canadian corporation that owns and operates a worldwide chain of shoe and accessory stores, opens Aldo Accessories in Sandton City and Menlyn Park shopping malls in March 2014. Founded in 1972, the group is a leading international retailer with over 1700 stores in 87 countries.
Aldo Accessories offers handbags and accessories in in 18 countries with 159 stores. This is its first venture into South Africa, joining the Aldo Shoes & Accessories brand operating in South Africa since 2005 in 50 stores countrywide. Its brand mission is to continue to be at the forefront of the accessories retail market by offering customers the best in fashion handbags and accessories at an accessible price. The brand is described as young in spirit, urban in mind-set and on the cutting edge of international style.
