British Airways says that from March next year it will add nearly 700 seats a week to its twice-daily flights to Johannesburg with additional flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
It will use the Boeing 777-200 in a four-class configuration. Gavin Halliday, BA's general manager for Europe and Africa says that the additional flights are not seasonal but will continue for the rest of next year to meet the high demand for flights to Johannesburg.
He says the new flights will provide greater flexibility for passengers travelling to South Africa. BA has recently announced that it will spend £5-billion on buying new planes, improving its catering services, upgrading training and introducing new technology.
