On horseback through the Drakensberg

29 Jun 2012 06:40Submit a comment1 BizLike
The next few months are probably the best in the Drakensberg where there is the chance of snow and crisp, beautiful days.
The ZuluWaters Game Reserve in Mooi River, KwaZulu-Natal offers day trippers and overnight guests alike the opportunity to experience the mountain and the reserve stocked with Big Five animals on horseback.

The reserve's 7000 acres of thickets of Afromontane forest, thorn bush and open savannah is host to an extensive range of wildlife including Cape Buffalo, Cape Eland and other plains game.

Ride on Appaloosa or Paint horses escorted by an experienced guide. After the two or three-hour experience a picnic lunch is available. Pay R250 for a two-hour trail and R350 for a three-hour trail along the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains while the picnic is an extra R200 per person.

Fishing and hot-air ballooning experiences are also available at ZuluWaters at an additional fee.
