Sandton City offers visitors best of Africa

The Sandton district has been ear marked as a FIFA zone and Sandton City, which offers international shopping with South African style, is set to deliver on all fronts over the World Cup period. In anticipation of the influx of visitors to the area over June and July, the centre has extended its trading hours from 9am to 9pm from 1 June - 15 July 2010. The mall will not be affected by the traffic free zone road closures around the FIFA Fan Fest at Innisfree Park.

This includes the banks and Forex desks that have extended their trading hours beyond the normal local closing time of 3.30pm to after 6pm and 9pm respectively. Comments centre manager Sharon Swain: "We have taken every measure to ensure that we offer everyone an unmatched shopping experience."

International visitors will be on the look out to find something uniquely South African to take home with them as a souvenir of their visit or to spoil their loved ones at home. The centre recommends that they consider diamonds, Tanzanite, gold, semiprecious stones, designer brands, Carrol Boyes homeware, animal hide handbags, indigenous hand-painted ceramics, South African wines and a visit to the Nike Football Store, one of only three in the world.
