
The 34th Annual Loerie Awards, which take place in Cape Town from 15-23 September 2012, have opened for ticket sales, accommodation and car hire. The two awards ceremonies are limited to 1500 seats per night, so early booking is advised.

Loeries, 'Rest of Africa and the Middle East', will be officially launched on Thursday 19 April 2012 at 6pm at the Sierra Lounge, 2nd Floor, Yaya Centre, Argwings Khodek Road in Nairobi, Kenya.

A separate category for entries from outside of South Africa has been introduced to the
Loeries, which has issued its 34th call to enter on Thursday, 15 March 2012. In order to better promote the work being produced throughout the region, "Rest of Africa and the Middle East" will be judged separately to allow improved representation of all regions and offer greater exposure to each region's creative output.

step down as Loeries CEO, has been convinced by the Loeries board to stay on in that position, it was announced on Wednesday, 22 February 2012. His reappointment is from 1 March.

Pendoring Awards - which celebrate and encourage the use of Afrikaans advertising, as well as Truly South African communication for Afrikaans advertising - will this year be part of
Creative Week Cape Town, on Friday evening, 21 September 2012. For the first time, too, the Loeries judging week and judges' seminars will also be held in the Mother City during Creative Week.

In a four-way pitch against Ballito in KwaZulu-Natal, Johannesburg and Sun City, Cape Town has emerged triumphant to retain The Loerie Awards in the Mother City. The Loeries Judging Week and Seminars will also move from Johannesburg to Cape Town, so that judging will take place during Creative Week in the days leading up to the awards ceremonies.

Sophia Strydom and Kenneth van Reenen won the 2011 Loerie Awards Young Creative Category, sponsored by law firm Adams & Adams. At the age of 24, both have 54 local and global awards between them.
