What an awesome day for the movie industry in South Africa as Tsotsi is recognized as the Best Foreign Film at the Oscars! It warms the heart on this freezing near-Winter's day in Jo'burg! And again, to our clients: thank you for your patience during the continued power cuts in Cape Town business areas. Our team has become even more virtual than usual, with the Cape Town office emptying regularly as everyone follows the power! These days we are so reliant on electricity, particularly in most businesses where even the phones get taken down with electronic switchboards. Capetonians are getting quite resourceful I hear, rallying to the cause with hints and tips on how to cope, keeping flasks filled with hot water (thanks mom!), trading up (or down) to gas, and making their jobs more mobile by working from hotel lobbies and coffee shops (with power, like at The Waterfront) - street vendors are also apparently doing a roaring trade in car cellphone chargers. And as a regular reader from Nigeria says: Welcome to Africa and if any of us would like "tutorials on How to do Without Power Much of the Time", he would be happy to assist! Enjoy!
