With the June 16 public holiday slap bang in the middle of this week, my guess is that it will be a fairly quiet one, with many people taking advantage of the holiday to refresh over a long weekend, after what was an exceedingly busy past month with tons of events, awards, launches and business after the non-productive April holidays! So enjoy and drive safe if you're one of the many taking a break! Reporting back on Markex last week - certainly a visually beautiful exhibition with stunning stands, particularly the Department of Trade & Industry's large area devoted to the display of stunning craft from previously disadvantaged communities. But the show was dominated by event services and corporate gifts, with some below-the-line activity. Seriously lacking were mainstream and above-the-line services and agencies. One could be forgiven for thinking it was a gift expo at times! Produced by Exhibitions for Africa, this was the largest Markex Show held to date, with over 330 exhibitors - pity it was not more about marketing.
Have a good one...
