Marketing & Media Africa

Why? Because we Cannes!

Last week saw the annual celebration of creativity in communications, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, take place in Cannes, France. Congratulations to all the South African agencies and production companies who were shortlisted and of course those who walked away with Grand Prix, Gold, Silver or Bronze Lions to add to, or begin, their Cannes Lions collection. Your hard work has paid off! Check out our Cannes Lions special section to see all the winning work.

Other top stories from the past week include Louise Marsland's latest internet trends; Juliette Attwell's BizCareers column on the power of your LinkedIn profile; and eNCA's Africa Editor, Chris Maroleng, who resigned.

Cuan Chelin gives some advice on building brands in emerging markets and reckons that the emerging market consumer exhibits characteristics that differ to that of the further developed economies.

Last but not least, if you missed last week's Biz Takeouts episode with Mike Saunders from Digitlab, listen to the podcast which is now available.

Have a great week!

Cheers!
Ilse van den Berg, Editor: Marketing & Media Africa (@Biz_Africa)
