PRETORIA: The South African National Parks (SANParks) says it will offer a cash reward of R100 000 to anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of poachers and a further R1 million for a successful conviction of a poaching syndicate mastermind. 
The SAPS secured a major victory in the fight against aviation crime following a joint operation between themselves and ground handler Menzies Aviation, which recently saw five men convicted and receiving lengthy jail time. 
Denel will retrench 523 aircraft specialists after the SA Air Force (SAAF) cancelled its contract for aircraft maintenance. The retrenchments were confirmed by Denel and the trade union Solidarity on Thursday (13 December) 
Attempts by the Defence Force to fire about 600 soldiers for allegedly participating in an illegal march on the Union Buildings have suffered another setback in the courts, according to the South African National Defence Force Union (Sandu).
