With the revamp of health services in the country, it is my sincere hope that clinical genetic services are finally included. It is a disgrace that there are currently no posts for genetic counsellors and clinicians IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY.

The figures for the South African population must be much worse. Very few women are referred for genetic counselling at all.
