I find it very disturbing that a respected media publication such as Bizcommunity allowed Gill Moodie to use a swear word, on the home page no less. (Where's all that World Cup clutter, then? posted 19 May 2010) Why is it that English people think is is ok to use Afrikaans swear words? If an Afrikaans magazine/newspaper/radio DJ were to use a word like "fucked" (the English equivalent of Gill's "befok") there would surely be consequences from the editor and the public. Please do better in the future. Swearing in the media, even if it is in another language, is substandard.
