Does one need a PR company to get press releases published?
If the product is innovative and exciting enough, surely newspapers and magazines will be easily convinced to write about it?

Are publishers open to companies contacting them without going through a PR company? If this is the case, do publishers still need professional press releases and how does one define such a thing?
