T-Systems SA hosts event in support of gender equality

The 30% Club, is an international group of chairmen, CEOs and senior partners of private sector organisations that are committed to bringing more women onto boards because they believe it’s good for the overall effectiveness of the boardroom – and therefore good for business. Focus is also placed on the pipeline development to create sustainable change.

Currently the 30% club is active in the UK, Hong Kong, Kenya, USA, Ireland, UAE, Italy, Malaysia, Canada, Australia and Southern Africa.

Says Gert Schoonbee, MD at T-Systems in South Africa, “At T-Systems we have always set the trend when it comes to providing opportunities for women in the workplace and we are proud to be a part of the 30% Club of Southern Africa. As the overall Gender Mainstreaming Champion of 2014, we have successfully hosted the first 30% Club Dinner in March of 2015, creating the opportunity for all the captains of industry who attended to participate in discussions around improving gender equality in South Africa’s private sector.”

"In this ever changing market, digitisation changes business models and this in turn creates specific leadership challenges. Respect, opportunity, cultural and gender diversity and professional excellence are part of the actions that will contribute towards digital transformation of our company and our country."
