The annual MTN Business App of the Year Consumer Choice Awards celebrates South Africa's technical talent by showcasing locally developed apps (Apple, Android and Microsoft) that make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those who use them.
This year's event will once again showcase the capabilities of the South African development community to deliver apps of international standard. Some of the previous winners have gone on to top international and local app download charts, grow into profitable revenue sources for their developers, and have even been acquired by blue-chip companies.
Trender joint-CEO, Calvin Terblanche is elated by being nominated for this prestigious award. "With very little capital and no big investors, we created South Africa's first home-grown social location-based photo app. We never expected how tough it would be to build and launch an app."
"This award will provide recognition and will help us take the app to new levels, to change and adapt to the market and consumer's needs," he adds.

"Socialites can now browse trends by category including nightlife, bars, and restaurants or just check where friends are meeting.
