For an investment starting at R3500, benefits include: a row and cultivar of the "adoptees" choice with an accompanying Certificate of Adoption; personalised labels on the wine produced from your selected "row", as well as invitations to all the major farm events, such as the annual Harvesters Lunch and Vine-budding Festival. In addition, numerous discounts and special offers from The Stables' retail stores at The Airport Cellar at King Shaka International Airport and The City Cellar in Umhlanga, and directly from The Stables Wine Estate in Nottingham Road, in the Midlands, can be had.
At present, two types of membership are on offer. A Gold membership is R3500 per annum and the Platinum membership is R8500. Platinum benefits include the addition of a row of champagne cultivar of choice; a case of champagne, personalised with the adoptees own label and a sabrage experience at the City Cellar, disgorging a bottle of champagne. A Diamond membership will be added in 2011.
The Stables Wine Estate City Cellar opens in November, extending the wine estate's footprint from the estate to the heart of the city and will have something for everyone. From wine tastings, food-and-wine pairings and wine sales (including local, Cape and international wines); to a deli, wine cellar, Vinoteque, Champagne & Wine Bar and 'bistro-style' Coffee Bar.
Opening early in 2011, the basement will be converted into a vaulted champagne cave, comprising a restaurant with seating for over 100 people, a champagne winery and function facilities for groups ranging from 10 to 150 people. The Stables will launch KZN's first vintage champagne in November during "Bubbly Month".
