Airbnb served as the official alternative accommodation service supplier for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games as announced by the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games president, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, and Airbnb co-founder and chief product officer, Joe Gebbia, at the Rio 2016 headquarters. This comes as no surprise as it is one of the top home sharing destinations with Airbnb boasting 20,000 Rio listings.
