Fuel distribution best left to the experts

Caltex appointed Caltex Eastern Cape Marketers (CECM) as local distributors in the Eastern Cape. CECM intensified its focus on higher safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) standards, and formed Uzuko Carriers - a joint-venture with JSE-listed Cargo Carriers. In the past, fuel companies were in complete control of the entire process from exploration to retail.

These days, oil giants are rethinking where they want to be in the supply chain, be it exploration, discovery, drilling, harvesting, crude oil retail, refinement or distribution.

When outsourcing fuel distribution, fuel companies should choose transporters who are attuned to the specific demands and requirements of the fuel industry. Fuel companies require flexible and cost-effective transport operations, in order to compete in a highly competitive market.
