DUT awards four honorary doctorates

Four top South Africans have been awarded honorary doctorates by the Durban University of Technology (DUT) according to IOL.

The four are: Navy chief Vice-Admiral Johannes Mudumi; former Drum writer, the late Professor Lewis Nkosi; University of Johannesburg chancellor and founder of listed Wiphold, Wendy Luhabe and Professor Njabulo Ndebele.

Mudimu says he will accept the honour on behalf of all fellow seamen while Luhabe says that she is "living testimony" to the importance of education and the role it plays in building a career.

Nkosi's posthumous award will be accepted by Astrid Starck-Adler, his partner until his death.
