Imperial Auto partners with Headway Gauteng

Imperial Auto, a partner of Headway Gauteng, a specialist organisation dedicated to supporting people with brain injuries, is offering the public a chance to win the trip of a life time, while ensuring all proceeds go to bettering the lives of brain injury survivors and their families.

Imperial Auto is sponsoring a trip to The British Open Golf Championship, which will be held at the Royal Liverpool, Hoylake in the United Kingdom in July 2014. By simply purchasing a R140 raffle ticket, patrons stand a chance to win this magnificent prize which includes flights for two people, accommodation, transfers and entrance tickets to the world-renowned golfing event.

"We want to have a positive impact on the communities in which we operate, and to educate our customers and engage with our stakeholders as much as possible. Headway is run by incredible people who are assisting other incredible people overcome their challenges every day - actions we take for granted - like eating, walking and talking."

Headway Gauteng has been dedicated to offering various support programmes to survivors of brain injury and their families. The vast majority of their members have sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of motor vehicle, motor cycle or pedestrian vehicle accidents, assaults or sporting accidents.

"Headway aims to be a primary, accessible and committed resource for persons and families affected by brain injury," says Mike Gahagan, champion for Headway Gauteng. "We pride ourselves on providing an environment where those affected can feel accepted and safe, and we hope to eventually service all communities throughout South Africa."

"Headway Gauteng not only provides a place of belonging for survivors of brain injury, but is able to offer information, practical advice and better understanding about what the injury will mean for the future and how the family can make a meaningful contribution to the recovery of the head injured individual", adds Gahagan.

Grobler concludes: "We recognise the importance of supporting organisations such as Headway who are constantly making a difference in people's lives. Backing such an initiative allows us to provide the stability they require to develop and assist more families in need. 20th March is World Head Injury Day, a day when the world acknowledges this pandemic"
