The 40% growth in sales from 5 266 units in 2010 to 7 348 units in 2011 of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products over the last three years has necessitated Chrysler South Africa to expand it's dealer network.
Chrysler realised the need to grow its 35 dealerships to 38 dealerships to provide sales and service back-up to customers. This expansion programme has begun with the opening of Cargo Motors Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Bedfordview in Johannesburg, which is operated by Imperial Motor Holdings, and Chrysler Jeep Dodge Wonderboom in Pretoria, which is operated by Bidvest McCarthy. Both these dealerships opened on 20 February and will be able to provide comprehensive sales and after-sales services on all Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products.
