June is CHOC-full of Christmas for Cape Town children
June every year is very special for Cape Town's children with cancer, for that is when CHOC, Childhood Cancer Foundation, hosts a Christmas in June celebration - just for them and their families.
As part of the Danone Clover, ‘Caring for our Children Campaign' this year's Christmas in June took place on Saturday 23 June at the Protea Hall at Tygerberg Hospital, and the event was themed around Ultramel, with custard and desserts for everyone to enjoy.
Why Christmas in June? The heartbreaking truth is, nobody knows whether the children will still be with us come December.
Cancer respects no-one, not even innocent little children so what better than a get-together in June for the children and their families.
Danone Clover's ‘Caring for Our Children' campaign runs throughout June and July this year and the company will donate six cents for every Danone Clover yoghurt, drinking yoghurt, juice yoghurt blend and maas product sold. The proceeds will help Danone Clover give the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation a fourth Danone Clover CHOC House, which will be in Pretoria.
