Due to numerous requests for more time to prepare, nominations for the Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA) Awards have extended the closing date until Friday, 18 September 2009.
The HICA Awards were launched in 2007 together with the annual Hospitality Investment Conference Africa concept, and are now in their third year. Four categories will recognised in these awards for 2009 - The Best New Hotel, Excellence in Travel and Tourism Reporting, the Tourism Business Leadership Awards and an award for the industry's Upcoming Mover and Shaker.

The awards, which are adjudicated by Grant Thornton, have previously recognised industry greats such as Hans Enderle of the City Lodge Group and the innovation and excellence of products such as the Gondwana Desert Collection in Namibia, the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel in the Western Cape, and Lebo's Backpackers and Bicycle Tours from Soweto.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.hica.co.za and can be emailed (prulashe@gt.co.za); faxed back to Grant Thornton at +27 (0)11 322 4767 / 086-570-4148; or delivered to:
Grant Thornton (for attention Mr Pila Rulashe)
137 Daisy Street,

Winners will be announced at the HICA Conference Gala Dinner at the Sandton Sun Hotel to be held on Thursday, 5 November 2009.
