The quarterfinal line-up for the R1million 2009 Vodacom Cup has been confirmed after a dramatic final round of league fixtures at the weekend. The matches will take place on 24 and 25 April. SARU will confirm the dates and kick-off times shortly.
South Section winners the Sharks XV will host the Golden Lions, who secured fourth place ahead of the Pumas in the North section with a 59-26 victory over the Valke in Johannesburg on Saturday.

The Pumas lost out on a place in the last eight after going down 24-37 against the Vodacom Blue Bulls in Witbank on Saturday.

The Blue Bulls earned a valuable bonus point against the Pumas that helped them to claim top spot in the North Section and secure a home quarterfinal against Vodacom Western Province.

WP ended fourth in the South Section after going down 19-35 against Vodacom Free State in their final league fixture in Stellenbosch on Friday.

The win saw Free State finish third to set up a derby clash in Kimberley against GWK Griquas, who ended up second in the North Section after a one-sided 87-31 win over the Griffons on Saturday.

The SWD Eagles beat the Border Bulldogs 20-13 in their final league match to finish second in the South Section and earn a home tie against the Platinum Leopards in George.

The Leopards finished third in the North Section after being overtaken by both the Blue Bulls and Griquas on the final day of league play.

The final match of the weekend was of academic interest with the Boland Cavaliers beating the Mighty Elephants 34-8 in Humansdorp on Saturday. Boland ended in sixth place and the Elephants last in the South Section.
