Klink Awards launched to engage consumers

A consumer-driven competition, the Klink Awards aims not only recognise the profound impact of wine and its production, but the exceptional achievements of the South African wine tourism industry. The awards champion the ever-expanding array of lifestyle and business aspects associated with wine and wine tourism.

"Today some of the finest culinary, scenic, hospitality, entertainment and eco-conscious enterprises that the country has to offer are driven and managed by wine estates," said founder of the Wine Tourism Handbook and Klink Awards, Monika Elias. "In acknowledgement of their efforts, Wine Tourism South Africa (WTSA) is proud to announce the first annual Klink Awards."

Once the nominations are in, public voting will take place over a three-month period via SMS, web, and social media channels and will culminate with an awards ceremony at which the winners in each of the 13 lifestyle-focused categories will be announced.

"The Klink Awards are definitely the type of sponsorship that offers brands an opportunity to engage with a consumer base that crosses race, age and gender on multiple levels - from the pop-up events to the various digital platforms, the scope for leveraging is vast," said sponsorship expert Paul Reynell. "Particularly appealing is the reach on social media platforms and the opportunity for a brand that needs to fast-track its social media communications strategy."
