Smarties Box-a-Thon winner announced

The winner of the Nestlé Smarties Out of this World Box-a-Thon has been announced. Adrian Joubert of Hennops Park has won the grand prize of a family trip for four to Florida for his out-of-this-world spider complete with enormous fangs and antennae, made entirely out of Nestlé Smarties boxes and packets.

Six runners-up have also been named and they have been presented with a Kindle Fire HD tablet with fun and educational games, as well as clothing vouchers to the value of R1500. Entries included a dragon-inspired creature with teeth bared and scales upright, Smarties robots and aliens, as well as a life-size fairy princess complete with her very own castle

"Smarties believes in the magic of play, as well as the importance of creative education. It was with this in mind that we invited entrants to showcase their imagination, by creating their very own 'out of this world' model, using Smarties boxes. We are overwhelmed by the incredibly high standard set by the children who participated. This just proves that when young people are encouraged to think out of the box, outer space and fantasy worlds are the limit," said Nestlé business executive manager, chocolates, Zanele Mthethwa.
