Tses Glass - Namibia's premier glass manufacturing company - announced in a statement the appointment of South Africa-based IBP Construction Consultants as technical engineers for Tses, Namibia - the world's largest dynamic glass manufacturing plant. Tses aims to have four separate manufacturing plants in a single location - offering a gross annual total capacity of 20 million net ton.
Tses opted for IBP as technical engineers in charge of conducting a feasibility study of its planned glass manufacturing plant in Tses, Southern Namibia. The environmental impact assessment study and the environmental monitoring plan for the new manufacturing plant will be done by Singapore-based Aurecon Group. Following an investment of more than US$5 billion, the new plant is expected to create over 46,500 direct manufacturing jobs in Tses itself and more than 233,000 new indirect job opportunities throughout Namibia.

Tses Village Council CEO Ivan Vries and Council Member Karl Eiseb said that the large investment in the project is "a dream come true" for the Tses community as it will boost socio-economic development and living-standards. It is hoped that, following the development, Tses will receive Town Status. Construction is expected to begin in May 2013, the statement said.
