Capture a day in the life of Woodstock and win great prizes

The photographic competition, One Day in Woodstock and Observatory 2012 with the theme "HOPE", is an easy competition to enter that has one simple rule - shoot within the 24 hours of Monday, 24 September 2012 in Woodstock.

Woodstock and Observatory are exciting, diverse and dynamic. For photographers, these suburbs are bursting with stimulation. Their vibrant colours, sunny and shady characters, decaying and reforming architecture, creative residents and quirky charm, provide enough visual inspiration to guarantee a great day's shooting.

Your photograph could be selected for exhibition at The Lovell Gallery, grace the pages of a coffee table book, and win you great prizes. The free entry competition is open to anyone. Judging is done by a combination voting process in which the public are invited to participate. The winners will be selected by adding the public vote to that of a panel of guest judges.

Thirty photographs exhibited

The competition has three categories this year with ten photographs being selected from each category:

  • A: Students and Scholars
  • B: General Public
  • C: Professional Photographers

The 30 photographs will be on exhibition at The Lovell Gallery from Tuesday, 9 October to Saturday, 27 October 2012 with an official launch party on Friday 12 October from 6:30pm. The three overall winners - one from each category - will be announced on Saturday, 27 October.

Participants need to register at The Lovell Gallery on 24 September 2012 between 10:00 and 18:00. Photographs can be taken any time from 00:01am and 11:59pm on 24 September in the Woodstock and Observatory areas.
